This is a relatively new complex funded by the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration program, Palm Beach County, The National Rifle Association, and the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida. They have a very well stocked Pro Shop with ammunition and other supplies available. There is no Clubhouse, Polebarn, Pavilion, ect. There are also no or very limited shade structures on the complex grounds or at the shooting stations. It is recommended that you bring popup shade canopies and chairs. There is also no food available on site, however there are several food providers within a few miles drive.

Event Rules

 Course of Fire:

100 targets

General Description

On a Sporting Clays course, shooters are presented with a wide variety of targets that duplicate the flight path of gamebirds, such as flushing, crossing, incoming and other angling shots. There are even special “rabbit” targets that are thrown on end and skitter across the ground.

Courses are laid out in natural surroundings and typically include eight or sixteen shooting “stations” with shooters moving from one station to the next to complete the course. Each “station” presents shooters with a different type of shot. At a “grouse station,” for example, shooters might face flushing “birds” that zip in and out of the trees. At a “decoying duck” station, incoming targets may float in toward the shooter.

At any “station,” targets may be thrown as singles, simultaneous pairs, following pairs (one target right after the other), or report pairs (the second target launched at the sound of the gun being fired at the first).

In the event of a tie there will be a “sudden death” shoot-off at a Shooting Station to be determined the day of the shoot.

Guns/Ammunition Allowed

Any shotgun 12 gauge or smaller (over/under, automatic, pump, etc) may be used. Ammunition must be low brass, size 7 ½ or smaller. No more than two shells may be loaded into the weapon at any time.
