General Information
Fifteen (15) man rosters. Visual clocks and scoreboards at all games. Double elimination or round robin with an elimination bracket (single/double/modified) – it will be presented when the start times are announced. Qualified registered officials using high school rules with the following exceptions:
TIME: Twenty minute halves with running clock. The clock will stop for all time outs throughout play and the last two (2) minutes of each half for dead balls. Three (3) full time outs and two (2) twenty second time outs per game. Any unused time outs may be carried over into the overtime period. Halftime to be ten (10) minutes.
FOULS: Five(5) personal fouls per game. First six (6) team fouls in half results in ball out of bounds unless in act of shooting.
OVERTIME: First possession determined by coin flip. Five (5) minute overtime with running time. The clock will stop for all time outs, dead balls and the last one minute of overtime play. One (1) additional time out awarded for overtime. Second half fouls carry into overtime.

Event Rules
EVENT:
Basketball 5 v 5 The event is divided into the following divisions:
AWARDS:
Team: Medals to all individuals on the roster including 1 non – playing coach in each division and age group.
OFFICIALS
Sport Coordinator: Supervises all facets of event.
Assistant Coordinator: When using more than one venue the Coordinator must ensure that an Assistant Coordinator is at each venue during competition.
Two (2) referees shall be assigned to each game. Referees must be provided a copy of, and be familiar with the FRS 5×5 rules.
Scorekeeper: One shall be assigned to each game. The scorekeeper works under the direction of the referees.
Timekeeper: One shall be assigned to each game. The timekeeper is responsible for the game clock and works under the direction of the referee.
Credentials Official: This person works under the supervision of the Sports Coordinator, and is responsible for verifying that each player in each game is properly credentialed (competitor pass). If multiple venues are utilized, one Credentials Official must be assigned to each venue.
A Protest Committee consisting of the event coordinator, a neutral third party coach, and a member of the executive staff shall be assembled on matters regarding protests. The decision rendered by this committee is final
PERSONNEL
Check-in table workers: one (1) person to work the competitor check-in table located at each venue each day of competition. They work under the direct supervision of the Sport Coordinator.
FACILITY
The facility should be a standard size gymnasium with the appropriate markings and 3 point lines.
SCHEDULING
A captains briefing to be held prior to the event will explain the rules and regulations, the start time and locations.

Participant Information
- All participants must pick up their pre-paid participation credentials at the host hotel prior to participation. This must be done in person. It can be done anytime prior to your event. Please bring identifying documents to verify you are a first responder. (Dept ID Card, Payroll stub with Drivers License etc… A Badge will not qualify as an identifying document) The credential office is open from 7 am til 5pm from June 3rd til June 15th. It is also open June 2nd after 12:00 noon til 5pm. There may be an additional fee for participants that do not purchase their credentials before May 25th.

POSSESSION: To start the game to be determined by coin flip. Teams must have three (3) players to start, but can continue the game with two (2). A forfeit will occur if the team is reduced to one (1) player. A mark will be placed on the floor no less than three (3) feet above the top of the key to start the play after dead balls. The offensive team must initiate play with a pass. A three (3) point line on the perimeter of the court approximately twenty (20) feet from the basket is mandatory.
CHANGE OF POSSESSION: If the possession of the ball changes teams, the ball must be returned beyond the 3-point line with both feet of the offensive player behind the line. If a defensive player scores a goal or a goal is scored without possession of the ball, the goal shall be scored to the team that last had possession of the ball behind the 3-point line.
