GENERAL INFORMATION
• 2024 First Responder Games Format
– This tournament will be a “CATCH, PHOTO AND RELEASE” style format
– Photos will be accepted via cell phone or digital camera in which a zoom feature and time stamp are intact. At time of release of rules, we are working on possibly using a phone app for tournaments. Rules will be updated and all teams will have prior knowledge of the app to use once a decision is made. Many tournament directors are using these apps for CPR style tournaments.
– Target species will be overall length for combined team Snook, Redfish & Trout. “One of each”
– Fish will be measured on First Responder Games supplied measuring boards only, any other board will justify team disqualification.
– Fish will be measured to their longest possible length with nose, bottom jaw, or forward most point of fish has to be touching front part of the board and tail pinched to the longest possible measurement. # Token or team # card must be included in fish picture. If not pictured, photo cannot be entered.
Do not block fish with an arm or anything else in photo. Must be able to see entire fish.
– If the fishes nose or tail cannot clearly be seen in the photo the fish will be disqualified.
– Fish will be rounded up to the nearest 1/4 inch.
– Your team captain will be responsible for scoring your fish and will be required to “sign off’ on a final measurement with the weigh master for the score to be considered valid.
– In the event of a tie “two or more teams have the same final inches” the designated weigh master(s) will instate a precision fish measurement overview where the fish will be scored to its nearest measurement for a more exact total.
– The weigh master will have final say in the measurement determination without challenge.
– In the event that after a formal review the measurements are too close to call the team that was first to “check in” will take the lead in such tie.
– All and any tie like situation from 1st to 3rd place will be treated as such. (Including Calcutta)
– Divisions will be divided between local and non-local teams, this will be determined as local teams are considered any person(s) participating on a team that lives, works, or employers HQ is within 50 miles of host hotel. Non- Local will be considered any team that is outside this circumference. (If this is in question for you team please bring this matter to a tournament director during the captains meeting for resolution)
– Overall Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for both local and non-local as well as a single medal for Biggest Snook, Biggest Redfish & Biggest Trout awarded to an individual that caught such fish.
– Any bait is accepted following State and Local law.
– Fish must be caught on Hook & Line.
– Wading is permitted
– If you are participating in the tournament and wish to fish in an area in which another boat that is participating is currently fishing or located you may not encroach within 100yrds of that boat unless your vessel is “waved” in implying you are not disturbing the other teams area. (Excluding catching bait)
– For every minute a team is late to the weigh in the weigh master will deduct 1 inch from the teams total score.
.–All boats participating will not have to leave from or return to a designated launch site. A member of the team must be at the designated ramp, which will be the Laishley park ramp, to check in and receive the measuring board for the day.
Then you may venture to your ramp of choice.
– All boats participating will subject to a vessel check prior to departure.
– Calcutta will be determined at the captains meeting and entry will be required prior to determining the selected species.
– A premium and non premium Calcutta system will be in place offering a 70/30 split with buy in amount to be determined at the captains meeting. 70% to Premium and 30% to Non-Premium. ( Example Premium fish could be largest Snook (70%) and non premium could be smallest catfish(30%)
– All Rules listed above will also apply to the Calcutta other than the Local VS Non-Local, teams can provide one fish for both Premium and Non-Premium entry.
– A Calcutta fish may not be one of your weigh fish meaning if the Calcutta is designated as largest Snook you may not weigh in for total inches the same fish you wish to also submit for your Calcutta fish. They must be two separate fish.
– Fishing inside or within 500 yards of any Marina, Boat Launch, or such similar location is strictly prohibited.
– 4 persons maximum per vessel.
– Vessel start and return time will also be determined at the captains meeting.
Any questions to the rules please bring them up at Captains meeting for clarification.
