Participants will not be allowed to participate without proper credentials on their person at the time of event. No other person except the registered participant may pick up their credentials, please don’t ask – no exceptions – get your own credentials!!

Softball – Open Rule changes for 2027
- Roster Size is 18 maximum
- The strike count will be 3 balls, 2 strikes, no extra foul. Thus the at-bat starts with a 1 and 1 count
- Home Run Limits
- For the Round Robin Portion of the event – The home run rule is 6 and 1 up with an out after 6 home runs.
- For the “A” Bracket – The home run rule is 6 and 1 up with a out offered after 6 home runs.
- For the “B” Bracket – The home run rule is 5 and 1 up with a out being issued after 5 home runs.
- For the “C” Bracket – The home run rule is 3 and 1 up with an inning ending out being issued after 3 home runs.
- When One-Up Home Run limits are in effect, the home team, in the bottom of the 7th or subsequent innings thereafter, CANNOT go One-Up.
- Safety base at 1st base will be offered but does not have to be utilized
- A Pitching Screen will be utilized. Batted balls that hit the pitching screen are considered a foul ball
- Pitchers may start on the rubber and/or up to 24” behind the rubber, but must start behind the screen.
- No fake pitches are allowed

ASA Rules to be utilized. These ASA rules will be utilized with the following additions/ changes:
- Roster Size is 18 maximum
- Bats to be provided – This is a “hit our sticks” tournament
- Balls will be 44 COR, 375 compression. The type of ball selected will be selected by the Sport Coordinator and approved by the FRG Rules Director.
- A team may use one courtesy runner per inning utilizing the last batted out.
- A team may bat 12, no DH is allowed
- Safety base at 1st base will be offered but does not have to be utilized
- If a Pitching Screen is utilized, Batted balls that hit the pitching screen are considered a foul ball
- Pitchers may start on the rubber and/or up to 24” behind the rubber, but must start behind the screen.
- No fake pitches are allowed
- If the score is tied at the end of 7 innings, the FRG tiebreaker must be used. FRG tiebreaker: start the inning with the last batted out at second base; no outs.
- A run rule of 20 runs after 3 innings, 15 after 4, and 12 after 5 innings will prevail.
- The strike count will be 3 balls, 2 strikes, no extra foul. Thus the at-bat starts with a 1 and 1 count
- No new inning may start after a 1 hour and 10 minute time limit has been met. There will be no time limits in medal games.

General information
Captains Name and Department are required for registration – Rosters will be submitted prior to first game.
Round Robin format followed by individual sub tournaments.
Brackets and times for sub divisions will be distributed based on registration and released after round robin is posted. ie, brackets A, B, or C
AWARDS:
Medals to all individuals on the roster including 1 non – playing coach in each division and age group. Rosters are limited to a maximum of 15 players plus one (1) Non-Playing Coach.
OFFICIALS
Sport Coordinator: Supervises all facets of event.Assistant Sport Coordinator: This person can assist the Sport Coordinator during the tournament and fill in when the Sport Coordinator is required to be away from the venue. An Assistant Sport Coordinator shall be designated for each complex.
An “Umpire-in-Chief” shall be appointed to handle the scheduling and monitoring of the umpires utilized in the tournament.
Two umpires per game.
One (1) Scorekeeper per game or designee (home team)
A Protest Committee consisting of the event coordinator, a neutral third party coach, and a member of the executive staff shall be assembled on matters regarding protests. The decision rendered by this committee is final.
